Photography

Today in photography I just finished my 12 month calendar. Its late but atleast I finished. For this project I had to take and develope the pictures for a calendar I made. This project took a while to complete. The theme was people by the way... How to develope a role of film: Open the film canister in a changing bag. Do not open the bag or else you will expose the film... you have to rely on your "touching" senses for this part. Cut off the uneven edge at the tip of the film (the curved edge of the film you pull out of the canister when you reload your camera). You will then put your roll of film on a reel and into the developing tank (put the light safe lid on). Now use a graduated cylinder to measure the liquid chemicals. How much chemical depends on how many films you are developing. In this case one needs 10fl oz of developer. Agitate continuously for 30 seconds, then 10 seconds every minute for 8 minutes. Dump down the drain when done. Using water fill and dump continuously for 30 seconds. Pour 10fl oz of fix into the tank and agitate for 30 seconds, then 10 seconds every minute for 5 minutes. The fix goes back in its container, not down the drain. Using water again fill and dump continuously for 5 minutes. Then fill tank with water just enough to cover the reel and pour one tsp. of photp-flo. Gently agitate for 2 minutes then dump down the drain. Now you can take your film and pin it somewhere for it to dry. Later you can go into the dark room and print your negatives. Thats a whole different process.
